How to view a Roku Smart Home camera live feed while streaming content (Picture in Picture)

With Picture in Picture, you can keep an eye on your Roku Smart Home Camera feeds while also streaming your favorite content. Pin a feed to your screen to keep an eye on the kids or monitor the front door for deliveries without interrupting your favorite shows or movies.

Requirements


You can pin a Smart Home Camera feed to your screen with the following wired cameras:

  • Roku Indoor Camera SE (models SCS11X and CS1000X)
  • Roku Outdoor Wired Camera SE (models SCW11X and CW2000)
  • Roku Indoor Camera 360

Pin a Smart Home camera feed to your screen


  • Press Homeon your Roku remote
  • Use the directional pad to navigate to the Roku Cameras App
  • In the Roku Cameras app, navigate to the camera feed you wish to pin to your screen
  • Press the Star star button on your remote to open the options menu for the camera
  • Select Pin camera to your screen and press OKOK button on Roku remote
  • Confirm by selecting Yes, pin camera
  • By default, the pinned camera feed will appear on the bottom-right of the screen

From a streaming channel

  • While watching a video, press Star to open the TV Settings menu
  • Select Pin Camera and press OK OK button on Roku remote to bring up a list of your cameras
  • Choose a camera and press OKOK button on Roku remote to pin the camera feed to your screen

Camera options


To open the pinned camera options menu while watching a show or movie, press and hold down the Star star button for 3 seconds.

Unpin a camera feed

  • While watching a video, press and hold down the Star star button for 3 seconds
  • Select Unpin camera and press OKOK button on Roku remote

Unmute a camera feed

By default, the audio from the pinned camera feed is muted. You can unmute it, which will automatically mute your streaming content.

  • While watching a video, press and hold down the Star star button for 3 seconds
  • Select Unmute camera and press OKOK button on Roku remote
  • To mute the camera's audio again, press and hold the Star star button for 3 seconds and use the directional pad to select Mute camera, then press OKOK button on Roku remote

View a feed in full screen

  • While watching a video, press and hold down the Starstar button for 3 seconds
  • Select View feed in full screen
  • Press OK

Switch live camera feed

  • While watching a video, press and hold down the Starstar button for 3 seconds
  • Use the directional pad to select Switch camera and press OKOK button on Roku remote to bring up a list of your cameras
  • A checkmark appears next the camera that is currently pinned
  • Choose a different camera and press OKOK button on Roku remote to pin the selected feed to the screen

Move the camera feed

  • While watching a video, press and hold down the Starstar button for 3 seconds
  • Select Move and press OK OK button on Roku remote
  • Use the directional pad to move the camera feed to the desired location on the screen and press OK OK button on Roku remote to confirm

Note: The camera feed can only be pinned to the edges of the screen
