Why can't I access the Roku Mobile App?

Why am I seeing a message that says I can't access the Roku Mobile App?

Due to new state laws, app stores such as the Google Play Store and Apple App Store have begun notifying app developers like Roku that certain users are under 18 years old. We’ve updated our mobile app access policy to prevent these under-18 users from accessing the app to ensure our compliance with state and federal laws.

How does Roku know my age?

The Apple App Store or Google Play Store have begun informing app developers like Roku that certain users are under 18 years old. This is based on information you provided to Google or Apple, or your parent or guardian provided, at the time your Google or Apple account was created. Roku doesn't save this information, and it’s shared with Roku in a way that keeps your identity private.

I am over 18, but the app is blocking me. What should I do?

Because we rely on age information from your mobile app store, the issue may be caused by incorrect details in your store profile. Please check your account settings in your mobile app store or contact Apple or Google customer support directly for additional help.
