When you set up your Roku® streaming player or Roku TV™, you’ll be asked to connect to the Internet using Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable. You will need to connect to the Internet to stream your favorite shows and movies and get updates. If you need help, learn how to fix network connection issues. When you turn on your TV or player for the first time, it will ask you to connect to the Internet. After setup, you can use your device offline but only for HDMI, cable, or over-the-air broadcasts.

Note: Some Roku players support a wired Ethernet connection with a USB adapter.
Note: Hotspots use mobile data, and streaming or updates can use a lot. Check with your wireless provider for data limits.
