How to manage and cancel a streaming subscription
Types of streaming subscriptions
There are 3 ways to subscribe to streaming services on Roku. The way you subscribe affects how you manage or cancel your subscription.
Subscribe, pay, and manage your subscription directly through Roku: You'll be billed for the subscription by Roku and you'll manage and cancel your subscription on my.roku.com. Your card or bank statement will show that the charge is from "Roku" or "Roku for <the provider name>."
Subscribe and pay through Roku, and manage your subscription through the service provider (for example, Disney+, Hulu, and Netflix): You'll be billed for the subscription by Roku, but you'll manage and cancel your subscription through the streaming service provider.
Subscribe and pay directly through the service provider (for example, Apple TV+, YouTube TV, and Amazon Prime Video): You'll be billed for the subscription by the service provider and manage and cancel your subscription through them.
Note: Subscriptions auto-renew unless otherwise noted. You can turn off auto-renew to stop your subscription from auto-renewing at the next billing date. No partial-term refunds are provided. Free trials must be canceled before the free trial period ends to avoid recurring subscription charges. If you have an active subscription managed by Roku, you can't remove your payment method on file until you have first canceled all subscriptions on the Roku account.
How to manage and cancel a subscription billed by Roku
To cancel a subscription that you pay for and manage through Roku, you must turn off auto-renew. You can do this on my.roku.comor on your Roku streaming device.
To cancel a subscription billed by Roku but managed by the service provider (for example, Disney+, Hulu, and Netflix), you must contact the streaming service provider directly.
On the Roku website:
Sign in to my.roku.com and go to Manage your subscriptions.
Under Active subscriptions, select the subscription you want to cancel.
Select Manage subscription and then select Turn off auto-renew. Turning off auto-renew means you've canceled your subscription and you will not be billed for it in the future.
After canceling your subscription, you'll continue to have access to it until the end of your current billing cycle.
Note: If this option isn't available, it means the subscription isn't managed through Roku but directly through the streaming service provider. You'll need to contact the streaming service provider directly to cancel your subscription.
On your Roku streaming device or Roku TV:
Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
From the Home screen, use the arrow buttons on your remote to hover over and highlight the app whose subscription you want to cancel.
Press the Star button on your remote.
Select Manage subscription to view the renewal date and access additional options. If you don't see this option, your subscription is not managed through Roku.
To cancel a subscription, select Turn off auto-renew. Next, you can choose to remove the app immediately or keep it for the remainder of the subscription term. Your subscription should now only be active until the end of its billing cycle.
How to manage and cancel a subscription billed directly by a service provider
If you're billed directly by a streaming service provider (for example, Apple TV+, YouTube TV, and Amazon Prime Video) your billing relationship is with that provider and you must contact them to cancel the subscription. If a charge differs from what you’ve confirmed or you think you've been overcharged, check with the service provider for any price changes related to those subscriptions.
What to do if you’re still being charged after canceling your subscription
If you’re still getting charged after you've canceled your subscription and the billing cycle has ended, see the article on identifying charges you do not recognize (especially if you see an invoice with “Roku for ___” and don't know what subscription it refers to).
Do you need to resubscribe if you have another Roku device?
If you bought another Roku device to stream entertainment in a different room, you can use the same account with all your subscriptions and preferences. There is no need to cancel your subscriptions on a Roku account and resubscribe on another to use another Roku device, you can simply use the same Roku account to set up your Roku device and the information will transfer.
How to check whether a subscription is managed through Roku
You can check whether a subscription is managed through Roku by signing in to your Roku account, checking on your Roku streaming device or Roku mobile app, or looking at your bank statement. In your Roku purchase history as well as in your banking statement, all transactions from Roku will appear from either “Roku" or "Roku for <the provider name>." If “Roku" or “Roku for <the provider name>" isn't referenced, it’s not a charge from Roku.

How subscription billing cycles work
When you turn off auto-renew, you can continue to use your subscription until the end of the current billing cycle. For example:
If you buy an annual subscription on January 1 for and decide to cancel your subscription on July 1, you can use your subscription until December 31. You won’t be charged another yearly subscription of the following January 1.
If you buy a monthly subscription on January 1 for £7.99 per month and decide to cancel your subscription on July 1, you can continue to use your subscription until July 31. You won’t be charged a monthly fee of 7.99 on August 1.
For subscriptions that Roku manages directly, we may set your subscriptions so that they all have the same billing cycle and the first billing period for additional subscriptions may be prorated to the same billing date as your current subscription(s).
