How to fix sign-in errors and video playback issues


Sign-in errors and video playback issues can be caused by a poor internet connection. If your internet connection is good, restarting your Roku streaming device can fix the issue.

Check your internet connection

Use the following steps to check the network connection on your streaming device.

  • Press Homehome button on Roku remote on your Roku remote
  • Scroll and select Settings
  • Select Network
  • Select Check connection

If your device is not connected to the internet, you must first set up the connection. If your device is connected to Wi-Fi® but has a bad connection, learn how to improve the wireless internet connection.

Restart your streaming device

Use the following steps to restart your streaming device.

  • Press Homehome button on Roku remote on your Roku remote
  • Scroll and select Settings
  • Select System
  • Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
  • Select System restart

After restarting your device, open the Apple TV app, sign in, and start streaming a movie or TV show.
