How to remove apps from your Roku streaming device

Apps can be removed from your Roku® streaming player or Roku TV™ from the Home screen or the Roku mobile app using the following directions. Apps cannot be removed from Roku.com.

Turn off auto-renewal to cancel your subscription before removing the app from your Roku device. If you can’t see the “Remove app” option, you might still have an active subscription or be in your current billing cycle. 

Removing apps from the home screen on your Roku device


  • Press Homehome button on your Roku remote on your Roku remote
  • Move to the right and highlight the channel you wish to remove
  • Press Starstar button on your Roku remote on your remote to open the Options menu
  • Select Remove channel and confirm when prompted

If you can’t see the “Remove app” option, you might still have an active subscription or be in your current billing cycle. Select “Manage subscription” to turn off auto-renewal and cancel your subscription.

Removing apps from the Roku mobile app


  • Launch the Roku mobile app
  • Tap Channelschannels icon on the Roku mobile app from the navigation bar
  • From the Channels tab, select My Channels to view a list of channels installed on your Roku device.
  • Tap and hold a channel to view more information
  • Tap Remove and confirm your decision
