How to switch audio from your Roku® wireless audio device to another sound system

A Roku wireless audio device, such as Roku wireless speakers or a Roku TV Wireless Soundbar, is designed to add full, rich sound to your Roku TV, dramatically improving the audio experience. When you set up your wireless audio device with your Roku TV, the built-in speakers in your TV along with all audio outputs (except for headphones) are turned off. This article explains how you can turn off your Roku wireless audio device from the Settings menu and switch audio back to the TV speakers and audio outputs.

How to switch the audio

To turn off your wireless audio device and use your Roku TV's built-in speakers or other audio outputs, follow the instructions below:

  • Press Homehome button on Roku remote on your Roku TV remote
  • Scroll and select Settings
  • Select Audio,
  • Select Audio output
  • Select Wireless speakers or Wireless soundbar
  • There are two ways you can turn off your Roku wireless audio device

    1. Select TV speakers to enable the built-in TV speakers along with other audio outputs. Your wireless audio device will be disabled.
    2. Select ARC or Optical to enable only the audio outputs. Both your wireless audio device and your TV's built-in speakers will be disabled.

After you disable your Roku wireless speakers or Roku TV Wireless Soundbar, audio will return to the TV speakers and/or other audio outputs depending on your selection. You can re-enable your wireless audio device by performing steps 1 through 4 above, and then select Auto, Wireless speakers, or Wireless soundbar.
